Mountain Cat's Program
Parents tell us that their kids absolutely love Catamount - and the biggest reason is the Mountain Cats program at the Catamount Snow Sports School.
Catamount has more than 35 ski and snowboard professionals who specialize in coaching kids and we make sure that your child has the best possible experience on snow while learning the skills they need to excel.
Kids' programs at Catamount emphasize three things: safety, on-slope etiquette. and fun!
KidCats is for children ages 4 to 6 (Skiing Only)
WildCats is for children ages 7 to 12 (Skiing or Snowboarding)
All kids' programs are available in Half-Day ( 9:30am - 12:00pm, 1:00pm - 3:30pm ) or Full-Day ( 9:30am - 3:30pm ) sessions. Lunch and 2 snacks is included in Full-Day sessions. Half-Day sessions include 1 snack. Full day lift tickets valid are included in the price of the sessions, but rental equipment must be purchased separately. The Mountain Cats Program is offered on weekends and holidays only. Private instruction for children is available midweek and for children younger than 4 years of age. Please arrive 45 minutes before your child's scheduled start time in order to register, rent, etc. We have a separate entrance from the parking lot to Mountain Cats.
Reservations for Mountain Cats are limited. RESERVATIONS CAN NOT BE MADE WITHIN 24 HOURS FROM DAY BEING REQUESTED. If you should make a reservation, but your child is unable to attend please let us know within 24 hours (or as soon as possible) so we may fill your spot and arrange another time when your child can attend. Late arrivals risk the chance of losing their spot, so please arrive at the suggested time. We also ask that all children be dressed and ready to go at least 15 minutes prior to the scheduled start time of each class.

Multi-Day Discount Books:
Treat your child to a season of fun and great skiing or snowboarding! Multi-day discount books are available as a great way to save when bringing more than one child to Catamount to participate in the Mountain Cats program or you plan on making multiple trips.
Mountain Cat Book sales have concluded for the 2013-2014 season.
To help your child's day go smoothly, consider the following when preparing your child for a day on the mountain!
Wear the right socks - Wool or wool blend socks are the best socks to wear when skiing and snowboarding, but remember that only 1 pair is needed. Cotton socks don't keep your feet warm and they retain moisture. Wool socks will keep your child's feet nice and toasty in the cold weather.
Keep the scarves at home - Scarves are okay for playing in the snow, but on the mountain they can get caught on the chairlift causing injury. The best thing to do is to not wear one.
Dress in layers - This is the most important one. Dressing in layers is important because if your child gets too warm it is easier for them to remove an article of clothing than it is to add clothing if they get cold.
Don't forget the little things - Don't forget about the sunscreen and those little hand warmers and foot warmers. They can help make all the difference in the world. If you forget to pack these items, don't worry. You can purchase these items and more at Catamount's retail shop, the Cat's Paw.
If you're still not sure what your child should wear when they go skiing, feel free to contact us and we'll give you some useful tips that will be sure to make your child's day fun and memorable.

New for 2013: Mountain Cat Adventure Program
Introducing the new Mountain Cat Adventure Program! This exciting new season-long program is for skiers and snowboarders who are ages 7-12 and who can maintain a full day of skiing on more challenging terrain at Catamount. This program is being offered as an alternative to our traditional Mountain Cats program.
One of the attractive features of the program is the “Express to Lift” concept that bypasses the daily Mountain Cat registration process. Once we know your child is in the program for the season you only need to bring your child to our designated slope-side meeting area outside the lodge.
A core group of instructors will be assigned to the groups for the duration of the program. Groupings will be based on skiing ability and skier/boarder interests. Each participant will be required to participate in a “ski-off” the first week of the program to properly match your child to an appropriate group. Those who are not available for the first weekend will have their ski-off on their first day attending.
Groups will meet every weekend beginning Saturday December 21st and will conclude March 9th, (excluding December 25th). Sessions will begin at 9:00am and conclude at 3:00 pm each day.
The price of the program, including a Catamount season pass and supervised lunches, is $1,275.00 per child. The last day to register for the Mountain Cat Adventure program is Friday December 20th. Be sure to register soon as space is limited.
