Mountain Cat's Program

Parents tell us that their kids absolutely love Catamount - and the biggest reason is the Mountain Cats program at the Catamount Snow Sports School.

Catamount has more than 35 ski and snowboard professionals who specialize in coaching kids and we make sure that your child has the best possible experience on snow while learning the skills they need to excel.

Kids' programs at Catamount emphasize three things: safety, on-slope etiquette. and fun!

KidCats is for children ages 4 to 6 (Skiing Only)
WildCats is for children ages 7 to 12 (Skiing or Snowboarding)

All kids' programs are available in Half-Day ( 9:30am - 12:00pm, 1:00pm - 3:30pm ) or Full-Day ( 9:30am - 3:30pm ) sessions. Lunch and 2 snacks is included in Full-Day sessions. Half-Day sessions include 1 snack. Lift tickets are included in the price for both sessions, but rental equipment must be purchased separately. The Mountain Cats Program is offered on weekends and holidays only. Private instruction for children is available midweek and for children younger than 4 years of age. Please arrive 45 minutes before your child's scheduled start time in order to register, rent, etc... We have a seperate entrance from the parking lot to Mountain Cats.

Reservations:

Reservations for Mountain Cats are limited, so follow the link below to submit a request. RESERVATIONS CAN NOT BE MADE WITHIN 24 HOURS FROM DAY BEING REQUESTED. If you should make a reservation, but your child is unable to attend please let us know within 24 hours (or as soon as possible) so we may fill your spot and arrange another time when your child can attend. Late arrivals risk the chance of losing their spot, so please arrive at the suggested time. We also ask that all children be dressed and ready to go at least 15 minutes prior to the scheduled start time of each class.

Treat your child to a season of fun and great skiing or snowboarding! Multi-day discount cards are available as a great way to save when bringing more than one child to Catamount to participate in the Mountain Cats program or you plan on making multiple trips. To help your child's day go smoothly, consider the following when preparing your child for a day on the mountain!

Wear the right socks - Wool or wool blend socks are the best socks to wear when skiing and snowboarding, but remember that only 1 pair is needed. Cotton socks don't keep your feet warm and they retain moisture. Wool socks will keep your child's feet nice and toasty in the cold weather.

Keep the scarves at home - Scarves are okay for playing in the snow, but on the mountain they can get caught on the chairlift causing injury. The best thing to do is to not wear one.

Dress in layers - This is the most important one. Dressing in layers is important because if your child gets too warm it is easier for them to remove an article of clothing than it is to add clothing if they get cold.

Don't forget the little things - Don't forget about the sunscreen and those little hand warmers and foot warmers. They can help make all the difference in the world. If you forget to pack these items, don't worry. You can purchase these items and more at Catamount's retail shop, the Cat's Paw.
