Adventure Park entertains thousands

October 29, 2009

Catamount Adventure Park entertains thousands of youths, teens and adults in its 1st season.

Over the last six months from May through October over 12,000 visitors experienced the new fun and excitement created by Catamount’s unique aerial forest adventure.  In previous years, May through October were quiet months at Catamount.  Now the mountain is humming with visitors in all seasons.

“So many people had an unbelievable time experiencing the challenge and thrill that the Park provides”, said Marketing Director, Rich Edwards.   Many people, whether they were couples, families or groups of friends, returned two or three times to progress through the more challenging courses, said Edwards.

The Catamount Adventure Park features 8 high ropes challenge courses, all with zip lines and set in the woods and under a canopy of pines and hardwoods.  There are 115 “bridges” that connect the platforms in the trees from 6 feet off the ground to 60 feet in the air.  The bridges are a configuration of cable, wood and rope that become less stable as the courses increase in difficulty.  Visit www.catamounttrees.com for photos, videos and more information for the 2010 season.

For the last day of the season on Sunday, November 1st, there is a special $20.00 park pass for adults and juniors.  Youths ages 8-13 can bring their Halloween costume and enter to win a costume contest and the chance to receive winter Catamount ski tickets or summer Adventure Park passes.  Arrive early because the Park closes at 4:30 pm Sunday.  The Park is also open Saturday October 31st from 9:00am until 5:30pm.

“We’ll close the Park after the Halloween weekend and put it to bed for the winter”, said Edwards.  As soon as the snow melts in April the Park staff will prepare for an early May opening.
