Ski & Snowboard Instructors - Information regarding the Instructor Traning Course
We are looking for people who are good communicators and like to smile and laugh.
Must be willing to service our guests' desire to learn a new sport or enhance their interest in improving their current level of ability. We want people willing to teach any ability level, beginner to advanced. Our program offers lessons for children ages 4 years and up so we want a staff that is
versatile and able to communicate enthusiastically with young and old alike. Instructors work outside on the snow a good portion of the day. We havea strong training program so if you are interested in learning to teach, we want to talk to you.
Applicants should own their equipment. Must be 16 years of age and older.
Hours: We are flexible. We have openings for both midweek and weekend staff. These are both full and part-time seasonal positions.

Mountain Host Volunteers
Your goal is to provide information and guidance to resort guests, meeting their needs in a positive, friendly and enthusiastic manner.

Essential Job Functions
• Complete daily duties as assigned, including, but not limited to, the delivery
of snow reports, and greeting guest.
• Maintain high visibility while working. Approach guests in a friendly and
pro-active manner, seeking out ways to improve the quality of their visit.
• Make an effort to be informed about ongoing activities and events, snow
conditions and number of lifts operating.
• Answer guests- questions and direct them to desired locations and services
around the resort.
• Work a minimum of 20 days, spreading days out over all 4 months (as much
as possible.)
• Complete other duties as requested by your supervisor.
Requirements
• Must posses or be willing to acquire knowledge of basic resort information,
including locations and availability of various services
• Must display a positive attitude and exhibit willingness to work in the
capacity of your supervisor's requests.
• Must be willing and able to work outside in wintry weather conditions.
• Must be consistently on time for scheduled days of work.
• Must be willing to adhere to the appearance code.
• Must be willing to operate within the guidelines of Catamount's safety policy.
• Must be able to stand for lengths of time.
Lift Operators
Lift operators will be under the direct supervision of the lift department supervisor. The lift operator shall operate any assigned lift in accordance with written or verbal procedures and policy's, to provide a safe environment for guests to load, ride, and unload on our system of aerial and surface lifts. A lift operator will be in direct charge and held responsible for his or her lift. They must be able to troubleshoot minor lift problems and either corrects them or properly informs lift maintenance, immediately handle any safety related issue and take action to correct them, communicate with other departments as required, and accurately complete/file lift logs and accident reports.
Essential Tasks:
• Follow all lift opening and closing procedures
• Do the required pre-operation lift checks
• Necessary ramp maintenance and preparation
• Insure all safety signs, mats, and safety cones are in place.
• Oversee that proper maze has been put in place with required signs
• Insure all seat pads are clear and safe
• Coordinate staff rotation for the day
• Maintain daily operational logs and complete incident reports as required
• Assist all guests as required
• Be aware of special activities and events
• Keep lift shacks clean and neat. Tools stored properly, trash emptied,
terminal area well landscaped
• Dry erase boards are up to date and clocks set properly
• Arrive in uniform
• Close and open maze lanes for effective maze operation
• Assist and oversee the maze is always in check
• Special projects as needed
• Observe skiers, especially beginners and children. Give verbal and non-verbal
commands as needed top guide skiers
• Troubleshoot minor lift problems and contact lift maintenance via dispatch
• Must be able to make split second decisions regarding stopping or slowing
the lift to ensure guest safety
• Assist with ticket scanning as needed
Applicants must be at least 18 years old and have the ability to work under extreme weather conditions. Experience helpful but not necessary. Training provided.
Other Employment Opportunities
Snow Maker:
Ability to work outside in extreme weather conditions. Must be at least 18 years old. Ability to work as a team member and individually. Willing to work a 12-hour shift. Applicant must also have the ability to operate machinery in a harsh work environment.
Rental Shop:
Willing and able to be trained and then certified to fit ski/snowboard equipment for our rental guests. Must love to work with people. Must be personable, helpful and friendly to all of our guests.
Housekeeping:
Willing to clean tables, sweep floors, wash trays, empty trash cans, restock paper towel and toilet paper holders in restrooms. Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers and our guests.
Parking Attendant:
Will aid our guests by directing them to park their cars in an orderly and safe fashion. Must be willing to work outside at times under extreme weather conditions. Need to have the ability to communicate effectively and with enthusiasm. Must be able to work alone, and with other team members.
